1 cup brown sugar
CARMEL FRENCH TOAST
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
12 slices white bread
6 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
Combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in sauce pan.
Cook at medium heat until thick (stirring to a good boil until thick).
Pour into 9 X 13 inch baking dish.
Place 6 slices of bread on top of syrup mixture.
Top with remaining slices of bread.
Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt.
Blend well & pour over bread.
Cover and chill 8 hours in refrigerator.
Bake at 350 degrees 40 to 45 minutes.
